Nag-Panchmi

Nag Panchami is a divine festival of the Hindu religion. . This day is celebrated on the fifth day (Panchami) of the bright half of the lunar month of Shravan/Savan (Aadi Month). The festival points the significance of the Snake-God. On this special day devotees worship snakes or serpents. It is said to take place in the month of July/August.

This year (2014), the festival will be celebrated on the 1st of August.

On this festival, People are seen offering food and milk to pictures or idols of snakes or snake caves. In this day people also visiting any temple of snake god and doing Palabishekam to the deity in order to get Lord Naga’s Blessings.
